Supported by the Center for Excellence in Urban and Rural Education (CEURE) at Buffalo State College, this pilot project focused on improving education for diverse populations of children living in high-need urban and/or rural settings via many avenues, but in particular teacher education programs for pre-student teaching participants.

Seneca teachers are beginning to create classrooms that are literature-rich environments, filled with literacy materials created with the use of digital recording technology hardware and software. All of these materials are designed to offer a virtual immersion experience, to promote primary language learning through the association of the recorded spoken word with real-life, and to ensure successful language acquisition.
